Mighty Creatives (Previously known as: Creative Partnerships Leicester)

Launched in 2005, as Creative Partnerships Leicester, now call Mighty Creatives, worked with 53 schools across Leicester city to help children and young people build their creativity, ambition, knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on their worlds. Creative Partnerships Leicester  are committed to working with children and young people as active participants in their education and making a positive contribution to community cohesion.

the Mighty Creatives initially worked with Principal Partners (18 creative organisations and individuals partnered with a school for a period of up to 3 years).

In 2008 the model was revised and Mighty Creatives began work with A+M to build on Leicester’s priorities in young people’s participation in programme design, delivery and evaluation and community cohesion, by designing and supporting a Creative Agent model that is based on effective partnership working.

Creative Partnerships is now being rolled out across the East Midlands, bringing together four Creative Partnerships areas - Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and Bolsover, Ashfield and Mansfield (BAM) - with other Creative Partnerships activities elsewhere in the region.

The East Midlands covers the counties of Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire and Rutland, and the unitary authorities of Nottingham, Leicester and Derby. This makes it an extremely diverse region, socially, economically and ethnically, and schools currently participating in the Creative Partnerships programme reflect this, from large urban secondaries to small rural primaries.

Creative Partnerships in the East Midlands is working with these schools and our partners in the creative and cultural sector to develop a regional wide programme which places young people, their creativity and their learning at the centre, but which also recognises and supports school staff and creative partners as fellow learners and creators.
