Creative Partners in Learning
Completed: Ongoing

Creative Learning is defined as a particular type of learning experience that occurs when a collaborative relationship to bring about change is established between young people, teachers and creative professionals. Creative Partners in Learning is designed for people who facilitate this collaborative work to enable them to refine and grow their cultural and creative skills.
A+M is working towards accrediting this programme so that, if they wish, participants can gain credits towards an MA.
Creative Partnerships is the Government’s flagship creativity programme for schools and young people, supported by Arts Council England and funded by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, with additional support from the DfES (now, the Department for Children, School and Families).
It aims to develop:
- The creativity of young people, raising their aspirations and achievements
- The skills of teachers and their ability to work with creative practitioners
- Schools’ approaches to culture, creativity and partnership working; and
- The skills, capacity and sustainability of the creative industries.
Cre8us de-merged from the Arts Council in 2008 and is now incorporated within CSWP (the partnership for economic and social development in the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire sub-region).
Cre8us, with A+M as one of its core partners, fits the CSWP profile and we are all looking forward to future development opportunities.
In 2008 -09 Cre8us will be working with 52 schools across the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire region, across the spectrum – primary, secondary, special and early years centres of excellence, as well as engaging with other schools and creative and cultural workers in continuing professional development activities.
