Tamzin Forster: photographer, art and animation workshops, live music/arts promotion

Tamzin Forster is a visual artist, based in Manchester, who works with books, text, animation, photography and video. She is interested in creating communication of feeling through restricted means. With this photographic work she isolates a selection of found words from street and shop signs, whose job it is to direct, advertise, inform or warn.

The use of words from our everyday, urban landscape emphasises the amount of visual information we are bombarded with on a daily basis. This work was exhibited as part of the Manchester Literature Festival 2007. The photographs, have been composed by Manchester poet, Suzanne Batty, to form a poetic fragment, transforming the banal to the beautiful, running along the first floor corridor of Central Library.
