Steve Friendship

Steve is an award winning filmmaker with national and international terrestrial and theatrical credits. Two recent productions, ‘The World’s Worst Chat Up Line’ & ‘Delhi Handkerchief’ received Platinum Remi’s at WorldFest Houston.

Through his work as a director Steve has built a strong understanding of all elements of storytelling and production, and has demonstrated a preference for stories that investigate characters driven towards amoral pragmatism, power balances within relationships and sublimated expressions of sexuality.

Steve is a regular contributor to the London Short Film Festival and WorldFest Houston, and has had work selected and screened by: Usher Gallery, Angel Row Gallery, Leicester Museum, Phoenix Arts, Highcross, The Broadway, Warwick Arts Centre, ICA-London, Cornerhouse – Manchester, Leeds International Short Film Festival, Raindance, Birmingham Film & TV festival, Court MEtrange – Rennes, Palm Springs International Short Film Festival, First Glance Film Festival – Philedelphia, Los Angeles International SFF, Cinequest – San Jose CA, Malibu International FF, Boston Underground FF, Canadian Film Centre’s Worldwide Shorts – Toronto.

Steve has also received recognition for its work with young people and students, working on over 60 productions with organisations such as First Light, Media Box and Creative Partnerships. ‘Look Don’t Leap’ won a First Light Award in 2007.
