Barbara Fidoe

Barbara specialises in unique textile wall art; panels and hangings designed and commissioned for exhibition, domestic and corporate clients.

Each piece is individually painted, screen-printed or dyed by hand in response to the impact of colour and form of surrounding environments at home and abroad.
Visual memories and feelings are gathered and expressed in the designs, which reflect her skills as a colourist.  The excitement triggered by endless colour palettes is joined by her being intrigued by all things old and worn, aged and weathered by time.

Working on a range of silk, cotton and silk/viscose velvet, Barbara has developed a technique of building up and taking away layers of colours and textures, using combinations of dye pastes, pigment, discharge and devoré, allowing her to achieve impressions of depth and structure within the cloth.

Her work also includes an exclusive range of devoré scarves for select retail outlets and to commission.

Barbara lives and works in Stratfrod Upon Avon and trained in printed textiles, gaining an enthusiasm of working directly onto cloth.  She exhibits widely and has sold wok internationally.
