CALL FOR ARTISTS - FROM THE DARKNESS ...light in contemporary art

‘From the Darkness’ is running at Brighton Festival Fringe in May 2010 and is seeking artist’s to create pieces in relation to “Light”

They are looking for works of all media which engage with light to exhibit in the beautiful setting a 13th century church. The final works selected will be diverse so interpretation of the theme is intentially very open. Applications are welcomed in painting, photography, sculpture, installation and new media. The festival will run between 1st May 2010 and 23rd May 2010 at St.Peters Church, Preston Park, Brighton. The curator of the exhibition is Nathaniel Hepburn, from Mascalls Gallery in Paddock Wood, West Kent. ‘From the Darkness’ is one of a series of exhibitions from Brighton to Canterbury including works by major international artists including Graham Sutherland, Stanley Spencer, Marc Chagall and Maggi Hambling.
