Course Details
Often a daunting task, raising money can be less of a lottery if a coherent strategy and methodology are used from the outset. This one day workshop looks at the different ways of raising income to fund a project or organisation and how to select relevant income streams for your aims.
Who is it for?
The course is aimed at people working in the arts and new to fundraising, particularly independent artists and small arts organisations.
Outline
Throughout the day, you will be given verbal and written briefings; practical experience in project presentation and advice on how to approach your own fundraising issues.
These will include:
- Where to look for support
- What makes your work attractive to funders
- How to identify funding opportunities
- Budgeting and presentation of funding application
- Reporting to funders
- How to avoid the ‘boom and bust’ merry-go-round of project funding
You will learn:
- Have a clear overview of the fundraising options available
- Be able to match key project objectives to funding guidelines
- Be more confident in understanding how to approach the funders and be better equipped to look for money!
- Be equipped to produce your own realistic fundraising strategy so that you can target the appropriate funding providers
