Simon Daykin

Chair

Simon Daykin has been a board member of Arts+Media since 2003, and Chair since 2007. He is Project Director for Oxford’s Pegasus Theatre, leading client-side delivery of a £6.7m capital development project, and he also lectures in arts management and marketing at Warwick University.

After qualifying in hotel and catering management (abortive and expensive) foray into the hospitality business, his career led him almost by accident to a role as director of The Quay Theatre in Sudbury, Suffolk.

Previous roles have included head of marketing at Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre, chief executive of Midlands Arts Marketing and the director of Maidenhead’s Norden Farm Centre for the Arts.

Simon is Chair of the governing body of his son’s primary school.  He is also an avid organic gardener, amateur chef, horseman, poet, bass-baritone, woodwind player and Francophile.
