
Kulwant Dhaliwal
Kulwant is executive director and a co-founder of Hi8us Midlands.
Hi8us produces innovative arts, education and new media projects and online tools for, and with, young people.
Kulwant led development and production of a range of innovative arts projects including StripSearch and Comic Studio – the highly successful comic illustration schemes. This has now been running for five years, with a Europe-wide programme in place and plans to establish the first national comic school in the UK.
Kulwant’s career began at Coventry’s Youth Arts & Media Centre, The Depot, where she co-ordinated a range of large and small-scale multimedia festivals involving young people.
She was also a European Research Projects Manager at the Centre for Research and Policy in Disability. Kulwant worked for Jubilee Arts in a variety of roles, including being Cultural Diversity Consultant on the c/PLEX project, now known as The Public.
