Gill Clarke has spent her career within the Independent Dance sector and was a founder member of the Siobhan Davies Dance Company as well as performing with Rosemary Butcher, Rosemary Lee, Janet Smith amongst others. She has an international reputation as a teacher of professionals and companies and frequently leads and facilitates debates and professional development opportunities for Independent Dance Artists. She was co-author of a review of the Independent Dance Sector for the Arts Council of England and founder of the Thursday Group - an open discussion forum for dance artists. Recent creative projects have included a movement installation for Tate St Ives, a residency with Chapter 4 at Bluecoats in Liverpool, and collaborations with composers.
